SERVICE AT ITS FINEST: THE 2013 CBIC MEDICAL MISSION

Last April 12, 2013, Country Bankers Insurance Corporation (CBIC) and its counterpart, Country Bankers Life Insurance Corporation joined its hands together for a medical mission at Calatagan, Batangas.

With a total of 16 volunteer doctors, 15 nurses and 159 employees, the medical mission served more than 1300 people.  As part of the yearly mission, free medical check-upS, medicines, sanitary bags and packed meals were given to the participants.

Now on its 4th year, the company’s medical mission has never failed to make everyone feel it as a truly rewarding experience. It only proves that one does not need to be a doctor, nurse or any other medical provider to serve. There are many roles that are needed to be played using one’s own unique skills to contribute to the success of the endeavour.

Generosity Virus: CBIC Pumps Up Drive for Typhoon Pablo Victims

As Typhoon Pablo devastated thousands of lives of our countrymen in the South, the employees of Country Bankers Insurance Group held hands together in helping the victims of said calamity by supporting the company’s relief operations drive.

In response to said call, the employees’ union of Country Bankers Insurance Corporation, namely, Country Bankers Employees Association (CBEA), decided to donate the budget allocated for Christmas gifts to be given to their members to the victims of the typhoon. Lead by its President, Mr. Gregorio Hector O. Villanueva together with its officers and members of the Board, the union handed over the check representing their donation to the company’s SVP/General Manager, Ms. Geraldine Desiderio-Garcia.

The generosity of the Union became viral as many of the company’s officers and employees, both past and present, started donating money, clothes and toiletries for the victims of the typhoon.

At CBIC, it is our fervent hope that that calamities may soon end. But rest in the laurels that at CBIC generosity will last in the hearts of many.

Generosity Virus: CBIG Gives Blood!

There is no better way to end the “love month” than to save a life!

In cooperation with the Section of Hematology-Oncology of the Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine of the Philippine General Hospital, University of the Philippines-Manila, a bloodletting activity was successfully held last 27 February 2013 at the Basement of Country Bankers Centre in Ermita, Manila.

Employees from both Country Bankers Insurance and Country Bankers Life, young and old, literally stretched their arms and endured the pain and fear of being injected by needles to donate blood. More than thirty (30) bags of blood with different blood types were donated to UP-PGH. The beneficiaries of said activity are the cancer-stricken children confined in said hospital.

May this activity be a start of a better partnership between CBIG and UP-PGH in helping give “Tulong na Maaasahan!
