MEDICAL MISSION

At Abucay, Bataan

Having a medical mission the first time is a challenging project for Country Bankers Insurance Corporation. But with the inspiring leadership of its SVP & General Manager and assistance of key people of the “life” company who has been into this activity for three straight years already, the “non-life” was able to complete its first medical mission in Abucay, Bataan, on April 17, 2009.

It was a hot but wonderful mission. The team worked well and hard the whole day inside the covered court of Tomas Pinpin Elementary School.

A crowd of 750 families more or less eagerly awaited at the mission site to the amazement of everyone. 50 boxes of medicines were distributed to the local residents of Abucay as well as packed lunch from Jollibee . The mascot was truly a delight to the queue of people specially the children and some aetas who graced the activity with song numbers.

It was a successful mission and we thank all the eight medical doctors and four nurses who gave their time to participate in this endeavor of helping the less fortunate. Also noteworthy of our gratitude are the volunteer helpers composed of the Barangay Tanod and local government officials who worked continuously that whole day. Last but not least, we owe our gratitude to those employees who donated some cash and medicines, and everyone else who gave their all unselfishly from beginning to end.

1 st Mission accomplished!

Country Bankers will continue to help the less fortunate in the Philippines.
